Your photos stay yours

What you send us

When you use a tool, your browser sends what that tool needs: the photos you add, any text you type (a prompt, a headline, a colour name), the options you pick, and your Gemini API key.

You don't create an account, and we don't ask for your name, email address or payment details.

Your Gemini API key

ImageGen is a portfolio project, and every generated image costs money. So the tools run on your own Gemini API key rather than ours. You can create one for free in Google AI Studio.

Your key is saved only in your browser's local storage, on this device. It's never saved on our servers, in a database or in our logs.

It's sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection with each request you make. Our server uses it only to call Google's Gemini API for that one request, then discards it. Before saving, we check the key once with a free call that generates nothing.

Anything you generate is billed to your Google account under Google's terms. You can remove the key any time from the key button in the navbar, and revoke it in Google AI Studio. Anyone using this browser profile can use a saved key, so don't save it on a shared computer.

How your photos are processed

Photos and text are sent to Google's Gemini API, which generates the image and sends it back. Google processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy, linked below.

ImageGen passes your request straight through. We don't save your photos, prompts or results to a database or file storage, and there's no gallery or history on our side. Once your result is on screen, download anything you want to keep.

What stays in your browser

Photos you add and the results you get are kept in the page's memory while it's open. Closing or refreshing the page clears them.

ImageGen keeps two things in your browser's local storage: your API key, if you add one, and a note that you've seen the welcome message. No cookies, nothing used to track you.

Logs

Like any website, our hosting provider records basic technical details for each request, such as IP address, browser type and time, to run and secure the service. Errors are logged without the photos themselves.

Children

ImageGen isn't meant for children under 13. Please don't upload photos of other people without their permission.

Changes

ImageGen is in beta. As tools become Shopify apps, this page will change, and the date at the top will show when.
